Manufacturing Process Manager (M.P.M)
Problems with conventional WO systems
Too much paper work
following product round the shop floor
Excessive admin when
creating works orders
Why MPM is different
Works Orders / Sheets
are centred on the raw material and the actual base level requirements rather than
top level Products.
Each Product manufactured
is provided a label which allows the product to be tracked and managed through the
manufacturing process.
What Are MPM’s Advantages
●Programmers have
an overall view of all requirements and their relation to the raw materials required.
●As the Programmers
have a view of the total requirements they can reduce raw material waste by more
efficiently using the space available on the raw material.
●MPM integrates
directly with Sage 200 meaning that there is no double entry of stock, Bill Of materials,
customers, sales order etc. in your accounting and manufacturing systems.
●Integration with
the Wrightbus portal system means that users do not need to rebuild Wrightbus BOM’s
in their manufacturing system as these can simply be imported.
This process can be performed as a batch operation or for individual BOMs.
●Wrightbus decree
that goods which they receive should have a label with certain information. MPM produces this label for you.
Wrightbus have also stipulated that these labels should use Wrightbus’s
descriptions and revision numbers.
Due to the Wrightbus portal integration this is not a problem as these are simply
imported into the users Sage 200 system.
●MPM shows buyers
the total raw material required to satisfy all products being manufactured. This allows the buyer to ensure that
manufacturing should always have sufficient material to get the job done.
●Programmers and
manufacturing can see what needs to be actioned and what state any current requirement
is in.
●All products
on the shop floor can be easily identified and anyone can see the next process involved
in the manufacture of that product.
●Store personnel
can understand what material they are receiving and the purpose of its manufacture. Therefore allowing them to store, kit
or despatch the product.
●MPM allows sage
to present accurate current stocks. These stocks can be broken down into two distinct
types ‘true stock’ (i.e. product not currently required for an order) and product
awaiting kit/despatch
●With true stock
control a scheduler can manufacture product where there is a true requirement NOT
the products for which there is currently free stock.
●Provide your
customer with true product delivery dates.
●Ensure you programmers
are always manufacturing the correct revision of the product.
